A new 90-minute documentary will reveal unseen footage of Professor Stephen Hawking with exclusive interviews from his family and friends.
The SKY Original film Hawking: Can You Hear Me? traces the life of the world-famous cosmologist who was born with motor neurone disease.
Footage which has never been made public, including the above family photo of Stephen with his then wife Jane, son Robert and daughter Lucy taken at their Californian estate in 1974, will pay tribute to the iconic physicist.
For the first time in front of the cameras Hawking’s family, friends and colleagues share memories of not only his work but Stephen’s personal life.
The documentary covers the professor’s highest and lowest points as told by those who witnessed and affected by them on a personal and intimate level.
Anthony Geffen, multi-Emmy and BAFTA-winning Producer, said: “After more than five years collaborating with the late Stephen Hawking, and his close family and friends, and with exclusive access to their family archive, we have finally been able to tell his extraordinary story from the inside, by the people who really knew him.”
Professor Stephen Hawking died on March 14 2018 at the age of 76.
Hawking: Can You Hear Me? is on SKY Documentaries and NOW Monday 20 September at 9pm.
