Radio and TV presenter Roman Kemp is set to present a BBC Three documentary highlighting mental health conditions and suicide in young men.
The Capital FM Breakfast Show host lost his best friend Joe Lyons last year who took their own life last year who he classed as his “absolute brother”.
Kemp said: "There is a growing mental health crisis going on right now, and without the right support, the results can be tragic.”
The programme will investigate the support which is available to people suffering mental illness and suicidal thoughts as well as looking how the condition affects family and friends.
Kemp went on to say he wants to "bring attention to a subject that is affecting thousands of young men across the country, and show that there are ways to reach those who are suffering and need our help."
BBC Three controller Fiona Campbell said: "This will be a really difficult film for Roman to make and we owe him and everyone else involved a huge thank you for putting trust in us to tell their stories."
Roman Kemp: Our Silent Emergency is on BBC One, Tuesday March 16 at 9pm and available afterwards on BBC iPlayer.
