Noel Gallagher has revealed he was admitted to hospital back in the nineties suffering a panic attack as a result of taking too much cocaine.

The singer-songwriter was interviewed by Matt Morgan on the Funny How? Podcast about the incident which occurred in Detroit, Michigan at the height of Oasis’s career.

Retelling his trip to hospital Noel remembered how the medical team were unable to understand him because of his Mancunian accent.

When asked if he missed the white powder Gallagher said: "No, I do not.

"It is a shit drug. It's not creative, it's not very sociable. You end up locked in a bathroom with some fucking idiot who you don't like, particularly, and... saying that, I mean, I did a fucking load of it."

Noel went on to say he believes the media has a habit of sensationalising stories.

"I can tell you now, anything that the press ever wrote about me - so I'm assuming it's the same as anybody else, whether it would be how much money you've got, how much fucking drugs you take, women, all that - they usually times it by three," he explained.

"For instance, at the height of it, there was a front page of the fucking Sun, a story that I had a four grand a week cocaine habit…

We worked it out, how many grams you'd get for four grand and it's like... I mean, it was summat like, you'd have to be doing a gram an hour for 24 hours a day, which is impossible.

"They put [it] on a front page of the newspaper, a rock star does a bit of gear, that's not a story. Rock star does a fucking shit load of gear and bites the head off a fucking guinea pig while fucking a, you know, a nun. You know, that's a story."

Discussing his health when he was snorting white stuff up his nose on a daily basis Noel said: "I did have to check into hospital once. I was in Detroit, as a matter of fact.

"You know, imagine having the psychosis and going to a hospital and having to go through a metal detector and someone asking you what's wrong with you? And they don't understand the words you're saying because of your accent.

"They're just like, 'Okay, I'm gonna go get someone else. Hang on a minute'."

He continued: "I've had a few really fucking brutal, aggressive panic attacks, which is why I quit [cocaine].

"If you've been up three nights doing fucking loads of gear, you're not fucking talking yourself down off any ledge there mate, you think you're going to die. Right. And rock stars die of that shit.

"So it's like, this is it. This is... I'm on the fucking way out… A couple of times I thought, fucking hell, am I gonna have a heart attack, do you know what I mean. Luckily, I didn't."
