A family in Ontario has really jumped into the festive spirit by reconstructing their home into the house seen in the legendarily Christmas movie Home Alone to raise money for charity.
Passer-by’s of the property in Stittsville are dazzled by 3,500 lights shining outside to make the place resemble the one lived in by Kevin McCallister (Macaulay Culkin) and his family in the 1990 classic film.
The front lawn at 18 Cypress Gardens is decorated with movie props which Kevin used to stop burglars raiding the place when he is accidentally left alone over the Christmas holiday season.
There are also models of the pizza delivery car and the wet bandit’s van featured in the movie as well as cut-outs of the film’s characters quoting their famous lines from the film.
The Turcotte family have become renowned for their artistic talent, in the past they turned their home into the Grisworld’s from National Lampoon’s Vacation and it’s all for a great cause as the decorations are raising money for the CHEO Youth Mental Health Services.
The Turcotte family are leaving the decorations up until January 1 2022.
