Connery died of pneumonia

A death certificate has confirmed Sean Connery died of pneumonia and old age.

The Scottish actor was 90 when he passed away on Friday October 30.

A death certificate, obtained by TMZ stated Connery died of “pneumonia, respiratory failure and old age” the document also revealed he was suffering from atrial fibrillation.

His wife, Micheline Roquebrune, recently told the press Sean had been diagnosed with dementia.

The 91-year-old French-Moroccan artist said: “It was no life for him,” and, “It took its toll on him. He was not able to express himself latterly.

“At least he died in his sleep and it was just so peaceful,” she added “I was with him all the time and he just slipped away. It was what he wanted.”

Paying tribute to the 007 actor James Bond producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli posted a joint statement on Twitter saying: “We are devastated by the news of the passing of Sir Sean Connery. He was and shall always be remembered as the original James Bond whose indelible entrance into cinema history began when he announced those unforgettable words…

“The name’s Bond… James Bond” — he revolutionised the world with his gritty and witty portrayal of the sexy and charismatic secret agent. He is undoubtedly largely responsible for the success of the film series and we shall be forever grateful to him.”

Sean Connery's actual name was Thomas Sean Connery. He was named Thomas after his grandfather.
