Poor old Catherine Zeta-Jones, after just recovering from the devastating news of her husband, Michael Douglas battle with throat cancer the 41 year-old actress has been diagnosed with a bipolar disorder.
Her illness is said to be the stress she endured looking after Michael. With Douglas on the road to recovery Zeta Jones found herself checking into the Silver Hill hospital in Connecticut (a mental health facility), for five days last week.
The star is believed to have undertaken a course of medication and talking therapy, which is the standard procedure for somebody suffering with the condition.
Zeta Jones's publicist Cece Yorke told the press, "After dealing with the stress of the past year, Catherine made the decision to check in to a mental health facility for a brief stay to treat her Bipolar II disorder.
"She's feeling great and looking forward to starting work this week on her two upcoming films."
The two movies Yorke was referring to are 'Playing the Field' with Gerald Butler and 'Lay the Favourite' which also stars Bruce Willis. Providing Zeta Jones can make a full recovery both films are due out in 2012.
