Webster to star in Strictly xmas special

George Webster has been announced as the sixth and final contestant to compete in the Strictly Come Dancing Christmas special.

Webster recently made history when he became the first Cbeebies presenter with Downs Syndrome, the role has led to the 22-year-old winning a BAFTA.

Webster’s Strictly professional dancer for the festive episode will be Amy Dowden.

As well as presenting kids TV shows, Webster has also appeared in French productions and bagged a cameo in The Railway Children.

Reacting to the news he said: 'I love Strictly and have watched it every year. I've always dreamed of being on the show one year and I'm so excited to be on this year's Christmas Special! 

'To be partnered with Amy is such an honour, we get on so well, she's so lovely and an amazing dancer. I'm looking forward to being 'Strictlyfied'. Bring on the glitter and everything else. I can't wait to perform on the Strictly dance floor.'

Webster is a public speaker, park runner and ambassador for Mencap and Yorkshire Dance. He was also included in the Shaw trust 100 power list and will also appear in future episodes of Casualty, Something Special and World on Fire.

The Strictly Come Dancing Christmas special will air on Christmas Day. Time TBA.
