Applegate speaks openly about MS diagnosis

Actress Christina Applegate has spoken publicly about the life-changing moment when she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis on a US TV chat show.
The Dead To Me star told The Kelly Clarkson Show hearing the news “sucked balls”, she went public with the diagnosis last year.
"I found out on a Monday after work that I had MS, a disease I'm gonna have for the rest of my life," Applegate said.
The actress sussed something wasn’t quite right after suffering from “very small symptoms” years before being diagnosed with the condition.
"I didn't know what was happening to me," Applegate told Clarkson. "I couldn't walk. They had to use a wheelchair to get me to set. I was freaking out. Until someone was like, 'You need an MRI.'"
The diagnosis came whilst Applegate was filming the third and final season of Dead To Me, but the star vowed to complete her role in the Netflix black comedy.
"There is no better. But it was good for me. I needed to process my loss of my life, my loss of that part of me. So I needed that time," she told The New York Times in November.
"I had an obligation to Liz [Feldman, creator] and to Linda [Cardellini, co-star], to our story.
"The powers that be were like, 'Let's just stop. We don't need to finish it. Let's put a few episodes together'. I said, 'No. We're going to do it, but we're going to do it on my terms."
All seasons of Dead To Me are available on Netflix.
