IX glycogen storage disease, also known as GSD IX, is a condition caused by the inability to break down the complex sugar, glycogen which can disable the normal functions of the affected tissue.

The rare condition can lead to an enlarged liver, slow growth, motor development delay, low blood sugar levels and a lack of muscle tone.
