An A to Z glossary of disabilities

Glaucoma can affect somebodies sight, usually when the eye has a build-up of pressure behind it. The condition, in most cases, attacks both eyes. There are four main types of Glaucoma…chronic open-angle glaucoma – the most common form which develops at a slow pace. Primary angle-closure glaucoma – A rare form of the illness which can be painful and develop slowly. Secondary glaucoma – Usually triggered by another eye condition or injury and developmental glaucoma – Another rare, but potentially dangerous type of Glaucoma commonly found in young children.
