Standon Calling is situated on a green field with a fairly level surface suitable for wheelchairs, although please bear in mind if it rains the site can become muddy and there is a hill on the way to the general campsite.
The site is quite compact so there is only a short distance between the Accessible Campsite and the main arena.
The Accessible campsite is close to the festival arena. The campsite has accessible toilets and showers, a covered charging point for electric wheelchairs and a kettle location. You may camp in the accessible campsite in a party with a maximum of 4 adults, including yourself and your PA, with a reasonable number of additional children. Please don’t bring a tent larger than you need due to limited space, gazebos and additional structures are not permitted. If you wish to arrive in a campervan spaces for vehicles are offered on a first-come-first-serve basis and you will need to purchase a campervan ticket. If you require power for your campervan due to medical reasons please mention this in the Accessible Request Form.
There is a viewing platform for the main stage, you need to secure a space by filling out the Accessible Request Form where you can also apply for a Personal Assistant lanyard permitting you to take one person with you. The platform has its own accessible toilet and is manned by a steward at all times.
Accessible toilets are also situated in the accessible campsite, main stage and the first aid tent.
Assistance dogs are welcome on site but must be kept on a lead at all times.
Upon arrival please follow the “Access” signs to the accreditation office to collect your wristbands, more details will be emailed out closer to the date.
If you are arriving by public transport please notify the team in advance via email or post so the accessible staff can collect you from the dedicated pick up and drop off point in the car park and ensure you have checked the festival opening times which will be released closer to the time.
You do not need to bring evidence of your disability if you have already included this in your application.
There are 24 hours medical and welfare facilities in the welfare tent.
If you wish to store medication in the fridge located in the accessible campsite please ensure you fill out the ‘Fridge’ section in the Accessible Request Form.
There is a hearing induction loop located in the accreditation box office and the information tent situated in the festival arena.
The organisers are in talks with BSL for Performance Interpreting over the weekend.
Please be aware that strobe lighting is used during some performances at the festival.
Performance schedules are displayed on large print boards at each stage and if requested in advance the programmes can be made in large print.
