Disabled guests are permitted to bring a personal assistant free of charge, the number of ‘Assisting Companion’ tickets on sale will alternate between each performance – so if there’s a show you desperately want to see you are advised to book early.
Assisting Companion tickets are available to members of the venues Access Scheme, when booking accessible tickets patrons are asked to the dedicated team on 0121 780 4949.
Disabled people who are able to attend concerts without assistance are asked to pay the full price and will not be eligible for the ‘Assisting Companion’ scheme.
The Town Hall and Symphony Hall do offer wheelchair spaces. If you are arriving in a wheelchair please notify the venue when you book your tickets stating if you will be remaining in your chair during the performance or if you prefer to be transferred to a seat in the auditorium.
Accessible toilets can be found on Levels 3,5 and 5a in the Symphony Hall (some of these require a RADAR key – if you don’t have one ask a member of staff) and at all levels at the Town Hall.
Guide dogs are allowed inside the auditorium – they can also be left with a staff member in the foyer during the performance.
The Town Hall has an induction hearing loop and inside the Symphony Hall guests with a Hearing Loss can make use of the infra-red hearing enchantment system which can be used by a receiver – available to borrow from the Cloakroom free of charge.
For patrons with mobility difficulties the Stalls can be accessed either by a small number of steps, a ramp or a lift. Circle seats can be reached up a flight of stairs or via the left. All the seats in the Circle can only be reached by stairs apart from those in Row A.
Blue Badge holders can book one of the three parking bays located directly outside the Town hall, these must be pre-booked at least 24 hours before arrival on 0121 644 5039.
A drop-off/ collect point is located outside the Symphony Hall, to use this facility guests must pre-register at least 24 hours before arrival by calling 0121 780 4949 or emailing [email protected]
There is also free parking for Blue Badge holders on Level 9 of the North Car Park at National Indoor Arena.
