You are advised to speak to the venue before purchasing tickets so you can discuss any access requirements you may have.

One you have purchased a standard ticket through an authorised outlet please contact the venue again so they can arrange a complimentary ticket for your personal assistant.

The box office is situated in the foyer up three steps or a ramp. There’s no mic although thy do have an induction loop.

You are asked to bring your booking details with you.

Wheelchair spaces are available which run on a first come first served basis – if you require this facility please mention it at the time of booking.

Assistance dogs are welcome, although please notify the venue before your visit.

If you require assistance at the venue please arrive about fifteen minutes before the doors open.

The viewing area, which can be reached by a lift or two sets of stairs, can accommodate up to three wheelchairs and 10 seated people.

The balcony on the second floor can be accessed by a lift and three steps.

O2 Academy2 Newcastle has lift access, one wheelchair space and four seats in a raised area.

Accessible toilets are situated on the ground level next to the lift. They can be opened by a RADAR key which staff can provide if you don’t have one.

The bar is located at the back of the O2 Academy Newcastle auditorium near the viewing area. The area has a spilt hatch at an accessible height.

The cloakroom is located in the foyer on the ground level at an accessible height.

There is a medic room available on request.

The merchandise stand is situated inside the foyer, if you need and help just speak to a member of staff.

Please be aware strobe lighting may be used during some concerts.


There are no accessible parking spaces designated for the venue but Blue Badge bays can be found nearby and in the car parks situated on Fenkle Street and the multi-storey at Grainger Town, Waterloo Square.


The O2 Academy Newcastle first opened as the New Westgate Picture House in 1927, the first film shown at the venue was a silent movie called The Monkey Talks.
