If you require accessible tickets for any events at O2 Academy’s across the country you will need to provide proof of your disability. The simplest way is to register for an Access Card.

Don’t have an Access Card? You can email or post a copy of your Disability Living Allowance, recognised assistance dog card or a similar form of evidence. You won’t receive your copy back in the post but they will be securely destroyed.

If you want to enter the venue before doors open to the public you can arrive at the venue 10-15 minutes beforehand. Please introduce yourselves to a member of staff so they can escort you to your reserved space.

The viewing platform is situated in front of the sound desk and can hold 5 wheelchairs and stools.

The accessible toilet is located at the top of the ramp leading to the viewing platform. The key to the toilet can be obtained at the Island Bar or by asking any of the First Aid staff or Security.

For guests who are not in a wheelchair, but have trouble standing there are bench seats situated on the viewing platform.

The Island Bar doesn’t have a lowered counter, but there is a split hatch – so you won’t go thirsty! There will also be escorts available if you need any extra help.

The Box Office has an induction loop and a lowered counter.

Fancy taking away a souvenir? The Merchandise stall is accessible from the viewing platform.

Please be aware strobe lighting may be used during some concerts.


The nearest tube station is Bridge St Underground, which is 150 metres away on Eglinton Street /Bridge Street. This also has a number of bus stops outside which service the greater Glasgow area.

In 2016 Glasgow O2 Academy staged the ABLE2UK Accessible Concert. For one night only the venue was equipped with extra disabled toilets, a wider viewing platform, areas for those who require spacious surroundings a British Sign Interpreter. The night was headlined by HOZIER.
