If you can provide proof of any of the following documents you are entitled to bring one personal assistant to Alton Towers free of charge.

•  Entitlement to Disability Living Allowance for children under 16 or DLA/Personal Independent Payments (PIP) for those aged 16-64
• .Attendance Allowance or Carer's Allowance letter of award
• .Incapacity Benefit books, or a letter notifying the recipient that the benefit has been awarded Incapacity Benefit or Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
•  A valid Blue Badge
• .A registration card known as the BD8 or a Certificate of Visual Impairment (CVI)

If a disabled guest wishes to use a promotional voucher please note there is no distinction between disabled and non-disabled visitors with ticket prices or promotions.

Accessible parking is situated in the main car park, although all cars must pay for this service when they exit.

Assistance dogs are welcome in the park, although for obvious reasons not on the rides. No dog must be left unattended in the park at any time so whilst you are on a ride they must be left with another member in your party.

Accessible toilets are located around the park and can be found with ease using the Alton Towers App. You will find a ‘Changing Places’ situated at X-Sector and a slightly smaller ‘Spaces to Change’ located in Fountain Square, which can be found near Woodcutter’s Bar and Grill in the Dark Forest. You will need a RADAR key to use these facilities, if you do not have one they can be hired from Guest Services for a £10 deposit. Both facilities have height adjustable beds, a tracking hoist and plenty of space.

Guest Services is situated on Tower Street, here you will find a helpful team who can provide advice on the accessible facilities around the park, collection of Ride Access Passes, height measuring, wheelchair access, RADAR key hire and lost property.

First Aid is located at the bottom of Towers Street which provides a fridge to store medication.

Each ride has its own level of restriction, so please bear in mind some rides may not be suitable for every guest with a disability.

Alton Towers offers a Ride Access Pass which allows disabled guests to ride with up to three additional people, providing one is over the age of 14, and skip the queue. The ride operator will record how long the queue is which will indicate when you may board another ride of that nature. You must register to qualify for a Ride Access Pass at Guest Services, once you have registered your details will be saved on the database so you will not have to register again at Thorpe Park or Alton Towers Resort, LEGOLAND Windsor Resort and Chessington World of Adventures.

The pass includes Peter Rabbit Hippity Hop, Gangsta Granny: The Ride, Wicker Man, Runaway Mine Train, Congo River Rapids, Go Jetters Vroomster Zoom Ride, Get! Set! Go! Tree Top Adventure, In The Night Garden Magical Boat Ride, Postman Pat Parcel Post, Octonauts Rollercoaster Adventure, Hex - The Legend of the Towers, Galactica, Nemesis, Spinball Whizzer, Rita, Oblivion, TH13TEEN and The Smiler. Please note single riders and Fastrack holders will have priority and only one non-ambulant rider will be allowed on a ride at a time to coincide with the park’s emergency procedures.

Please bear in mind being registered disabled does not necessary qualify you for a Ride Access Pass.

To qualify for a Ride Access Pass you must provide evidence of one of the below.

Disability Living Allowance or Attendance Allowance award letter (dated within the last 24 months) showing that you receive the higher rate mobility component.

Personal Independence Payment letter (dated within the last 24 months) showing that you receive enhanced mobility component.

A current and valid Blue Badge.

A current and valid Access Card including the queueing logo on it. These cards are available here.

If you believe you are entitled to a Ride Access Pass but do not fit in any of the above categories please provide evidence from a GP, Consultant, Nurse or BUPA Healthcare Advisor with photo ID of the named recipient.

Ride Access Passes are not handed out to people with hearing loss or vision loss unless they receive higher rate DLA, enhanced PIP or a letter from a professional body. Although these guests are advised to speak to Guest Services for advice so they can identify their needs.

A Ride Access Pass holder maybe eligible to bring up to three carers on a ride depending on the level of support they require, one carer must be aged 14 or over, although on ground level rides and children rides a carer under the age of 14 may be allowed to ride if a carer 14 or over is in close proximity.

Please note ride operators are not permitted to help guests on or off rides.

All Alton Towers hotels have lifts in their receptions and all restaurants, bars, shops and games rooms are also accessible by the lifts.

The hotels have accessible public toilet facilities.

Assistance and Guide Dogs are welcome in the hotels, although if you are bringing a dog please notify the hotel before you book so the staff can arrange a suitable room for your stay.

Wheelchairs can be hired from the reception area for a £20 refundable deposit, if you will need to charge a mobility scooter during your stay please notify the hotel when you make your reservation.

Portable induction loops are available from hotel receptions for guests with hearing loss.

If you have a special dietary requirement please notify the hotel when you make your reservation.

When you check-in at a hotel please notify staff if you will require any additional assistance during your stay to ensure these are met should there be an emergency.

Alton Towers Hotel

There are six accessible parking bays at the front of the Alton Towers Hotel which are complimentary for blue badge holder residents.

There are nine rooms in the Alton Towers Hotel for non-ambulant guests ( 7 Explorer rooms and 2 Artic Explorer rooms with 1 double bed, 1 single bed, Pull alarm cords in both the bathroom and bedroom, Handrails in the bathroom, Widened doorways, Lowered fixtures/fittings.

There is an accessible toilet in the public area of Alton Towers Hotel with grab rails and pull alarm cords.

Guests with hearing loss can collect a device from Reception that will vibrate and light up in the event of a fire alarm activation.

Alton Towers Hotel is about a 10 minute walk to the Monorail station for access to the Theme Park and about five minutes’ walk to Splash Landings Waterpark.

Splash Landings Hotel

There are eight accessible parking bays at the side of the Splash Landings Hotel which are complimentary for blue badge holder residents.

The hotel has nine accessible rooms with one double bed and one single bed and two rooms with one double bed, one double sofa and bunk beds.

As well as the accessible facilities in the Alton Towers Hotel the Splash Landings Hotel provides accessible showers, but there are no baths in these rooms.

Splash Landings Hotel is about a 5 minute walk to the Monorail station for access to the Theme Park and about five minutes’ walk to Alton Towers Hotel.

CBeebies Land Hotel

There are five accessible parking bays at the side of the CBeebies Land Hotel which are complimentary for blue badge holder residents.

The hotel has four accessible rooms (two family rooms that sleep five and two larger suites, which sleeps seven). The family rooms have: 1 x Double bed (standard size), 2 x Single bunk beds, 1 x Truckle bed. The suites have: 1 x Double bed (standard size), 2 x Single bunk beds, 1 x Truckle bed, 1 x Double sofa bed.

Accessible facilities include: Pull alarm cords in both the bathroom and bedroom, Handrails in the bathroom, Widened doorways, Lowered fixtures/fittings. The CBeebies Land Hotel rooms all come with a cot, bottle warmer and step stool.

The lifts have bright colours, sensory features and inclusive entertainment, although these can be switched off if required.

Enchanted Village

There is accessible parking outside reception, accessible lodges and the luxury treehouse, Oakwood which are complimentary for blue badge holder residents.

There are eight specially adapted Lodges for non-ambulant guests which have 1 double bed, 2 single bunk beds, 1 single truckle bed, Wet room, Pull alarm cords in the bathroom and bedroom, step free access and widened doorways.

One of the luxury Treehouses has an accessible ground floor bathroom and bedroom with pull alrm cords, step free access and widened front and bathroom doors.

Enchanted Village is about a 15 minute walk to the Monorail station for access to the Theme Park and about ten minutes’ walk to Splash Landings Hotel.

Alton Towers Waterpark

The waterpark is situated on the ground floor of Splash Landings Hotel and fully accessible via the hotel lifts.

There is a hoist to gain access to outdoor pools and hot tub, if you require this facility please speak to reception.

The waterpark provides a changing place, accessible showers and toilets in the changing room.

Extraordinary Golf

The golf course if fully accessible with no steep access or steps.

There is currently no loud noise or flashing lights, although there are smoke effects on the Hex and Duel holes which may be unsuitable for players with asthma or similar conditions.
