bringing
disabilities
into the light

Our journey

2023
A launch event at the Hard Rock Cafe, London with many special guests and a new website also happened on this day. Quite an epic one!

2021
On 28 September 2021 ABLE2UK staged its first ever accessible area at a film premiere. We did it in style with a pen at the World Premiere of NO TIME TO DIE at the Royal Albert Hall in London.
The initiative sees a specialised area on the red carpet specifically for people with disabilities who register through the ABLE2UK website.
As well as the Bond premiere we have also had our areas at the premieres for DOWNTON ABBEY: A NEW ERA and TICKET TO PARADISE where A-list stars such as DANIEL CRAIG, HUGH BONNEVILLE and GEORGE CLOONEY meeting our lucky winners who are also invited to watch the screening.

2016
We headed to Glasgow in January 2016 for our accessible concert which saw the O2 Academy transformed into a fully accessible venue with sign interpreters, a temporary build viewing platform, braille signage around the building and water bowls for accessible dogs.
Alongside a message from SIR ELTON JOHN the night included videos from MARK WAHLBERG, CHRIS MOYLES, CHRIS MARTIN and ANNIE MAC.
The show itself was headlined by HOZIER with support from KODALINE and PRIDES hosted by GAIL PORTER.
We even made the national news and coverage across the BBC.

2012
On 20th August 2012 ABLE2UK staged its inaugural event at the Camden Roundhouse highlighting disabled awareness.
The night started with an exclusive message from KATE BUSH with films throughout the night from the likes of PROFESSOR STEPHEN HAWKING, MARK WAHLBERG and KATE NASH
Headlined by FRANK TURNER the lineup included STEVE CRADOCK who brought along actor JOE THOMAS as a special guest, MILES KANE, MYSTERY JETS, BILLY BRAGG and ZANE LOWE for a five-hour music marathon hosted by HUW STEPHENS which received a four star review from The Guardian the following day.
