A nursing home has been accused of taking residents on an alcohol-fueled night out and a male strip show.

Three carers from the home are now standing trial of “wilfully neglecting” the residents on the outing which took place leading up to Christmas 2018.

One of the party - Lisa Dolan, thought the show would be similar to The Full Monty, she was horrified when one of the performers asked her to smack his bum whilst standing starkers right in front of her.

The 48-year-old told Dundee Sheriff Court how staff members Caitlin Gibb,22, Shannon Briggs, 24 and Samanatha Brunton, 36, were “happy” buying drinks at the bar in Baxter’s.

Dolan explained the excursion had been planned by the Linlathen Neurodisability Centre after one of the residents put it on their bucket list.

All three carers deny the charges against them after being accused of having “ill-treated or wilfully neglected” two patients on the festive trip on December 1 and being under the influence of alcohol.

They are alleged to take the women to the erotic entertainment event at Baxter’s where they carried on drinking and not supervising the vulnerable residents and allowed a “naked, male, adult entertainer to sit on the knee” of a woman whilst she was still in her wheelchair.

Dolan, who admitted to being a ‘wee bit drunk’ at the time, told the court: “What I expected was what I had seen on TV. I was expecting it to be like The Full Monty so I did go thinking it would be like that, but it wasn’t.

“He put his legs over the side of my chair and sat on my knee which I didn’t know was going to happen. I was actually shocked that happened.

“He had his full front in my face. I tried to push him away. I pushed his bum to get him away. I smacked his bum and he moved away.

“The next morning I went straight to report it and said I will never go to a strip club again. It was just not appropriate.”

The court was told the three accused women were not officially on duty, they had a night off and another staff member was driving the bus home.
