Forgive for not bothering to calculate how many days it is until the start of the Paralympics, but the truth is we are so excited about this news we just want to tell you about it as soon as possible.
What’s the news? Well, how would you like to be a torchbearer in next year’s games? Thanks to Lloyds TSB, other banks are available, you can nominate somebody, or even yourself, to carry the flame and the opportunity is open to everybody, whether you have a disability or not.
There are three simple steps to nominating somebody; first of all you need to explain why the person deserves to be giving this incredible opportunity in no more than 150 words. You will also need to submit their email address and a few photos of them. Next, if you are nominating somebody other than yourself, you need to submit your own contact information. Finally you will need to tell the person you have nominated them and tell them to keep an eye out for an email which will be sent to their account.
So, who can take part? Providing you are 12 or over you can make a nomination, but those under the age of 18 will need the consent of a parent or guardian. All entries must be written in English and you can nominate how many times you want, but you can only nominate an individual once.
All clear? Good. In that case make you way to the Lloyds TSB website pages which allows you to submit your nomination.
We wish you the best of luck and who knows, an ABLE2UK reader could be one of the torchbearers for the 2012 Paralympics, which incidentally, take place in 308 days time!
