Granite Heart the chicken didn’t have the best start in life.

She was born with a tendon disease which meant the fowl has movement in just one leg, to add insult Granite was involved in a fight with a weasel last year which left her with even more injuries.

Fortunately the good folks at Walkin’ Pets have made the animal her own custom made wheelchair after liaising with her owner Sarah Wood at their office in New Hampshire.

The company said: “Disabled pets are family and Walkin’ Pets will continue to work with Sarah and Granite Heart to develop the perfect wheelchair for Granite Heart and for future chickens alike.”

Granite Heart is the first chicken to be given her own custom-made wheelchair.
