TITCHY STRYDER . Little girl tries to grow up! Published: 27th July 2010 There are small people and there are small people! There are those who just escape being mistaken for being a dwarf and those who escape being rounded up and whisked off to the travelling freak show. Sixteen year old Jasmine Burkitt sadly falls into the latter category. Fortunately for Jas she hasn't ended up as a performing monkey, instead BBC 3 have enticed her to stand up tall and pour her 'little' heart out in tonight’s documentary. As most girls her age (16) Jasmine is your typical teenage girl who enjoys shopping, however thanks to her stunted growth (3ft 8in) she has to buy clothes suited for eight-year-olds. Tonight's documentary details Jasmine's past twelve months where BBC cameras have been following her around. Her journeys took her to New York, where she met other tiny people and her excitement when she camped out at her first festival. Which reminds us, the Underage festival takes place this Sunday so expect to see Jasmine there; or anytime within the next ten/ twenty years! Viewers will also see her celebrate her sixteenth birthday on a 'grand' scale and her attempt to make contact with her normal-sized father. Small Teen, Big World is on BBC3 tonight (27th July) at 9pm as part of the adult season.
