We here at ABLE2 always try to be topical. OK, so maybe our Reading festival was later than an appearance from Axl Rose and we are still researching who the hell Ed Miliband thinks he is, but thanks to a certain well-known footballer who is currently dominating the front and back pages it seems the ideal time to tell you about the Manchester United Disabled Supporters' Association. This for the sake of our crippled little typing fingers will now be referred to as the MUDSA for the rest of this article.

Boyle is to be the artistic director for the London Olympic Games in 2012. Danny Boyle that is, not the offensive comedian Frankie, mind you having the comedy genius in charge would spice things up a little wouldn't it? Anyway, back to the genius behind films such as Slumdog Millionaire, Trainspotting and a list of more classic movies that stretches down his Internet Movie Database page.

It seems that the Paralympics is finally having the publicity it so rightly deserves. A while ago Channel 4 rescored the games coverage after the 2012 television broadcast was in jeopardy. This has had a positive domino effect on the games which now has a major sponsor backing from a highly successful supermarket chain.

In just under four months time football fans across the world will unite, celebrate, cheer, cry and the probably punch each others face in as the FIFA World Cup 'kicks off' on 11th June in South Africa.

For those footballers who haven't a chance making this years England squad, for example those with disabilities and David Beckham (Some would argue they fit in the same category) there is now the opportunity to join the Football 7-a-side team at the annual BT Paralympic World Cup.

On Saturday the 2010 winter Olympics commenced with a spectacular opening ceremony in Vancouver.

Sadly thanks to the lack of publicity disabled sport tends to have compared to other global events such as the Olympic Games themselves the event wasn't given the coverage it so rightly deserves. So, in case you missed it allow us to kick off our week of sporting articles with an overview of what happened at the BC Place Stadium where the opening ceremony took place.
