Last Wednesday David Cameron paid a visit to the Newcastle Royal Victoria Infirmary Hospital, days later online rumours speculated the PM’s trip didn’t go as well as expected and even suggested threats were made should details come to light on what actually happened.

The following article comes from an online source, ABLE2UK must stress that we neither agree nor disagree with that the following content is accurate.

According to The Green Benches website Downing Street revealed the PM would visit the hospital the night before, on Tuesday 14 February so he could gain more support for the proposed reforms to the NHS and awareness the dangers of binge drinking.

Various sources also state the hospital staff were not informed of the PM’s visit. A chief newspaper correspondent, Andy Pearson use his Twitter account to explain the reason why the visit was kept under wraps was because the last time the PM turned up at the Newcastle Infirmary he was welcomed by a series of protestors.

Pearson went on to reveal journalists were locked in a room when Cameron arrived a statement backed by a second journalist, Omar Oakes who told of a similar procedure when the PM paid a visit to Kingston Hospital two years ago.

In 2007 Gordon Brown, who was then the PM, paid a visit to Kingston Hospital, despite claims that it’s standard procedure for journalists to be confined in a small room whilst the Prime Minister undertakes visits of this nature, online footage showed the Labour PM was happy to meet members of the press during his trip.

One person who witnessed Cameron’s visit last week was Alex Hay. According to Hay the 'PM simply dismissed criticism & reverted to scripted spin - failing to respond to concern'.

There are also reports a member also expressed their opinions to the PM who is now facing disciplinary action.

Of course, the government fully deny any of this went on, so we decided to phone the hospital direct to see if we could find out more information.

The first person we spoke to told us she had no information on the PMs visit and told us to read the papers if we required any more information. After requesting to speak to somebody else we were put on hold for seven minutes then we were cut off.

A second call put us through to another department who were reluctant to give any information at all.

So, was the PM’s visit a success? Was he verbally abused? And did he threaten the hospital not to give any information to the press about his time at the hospital? Only a few people know the real answers to this questions and one of them is currently running our country!
