DON'T METION THE WAR!

Charity helps disabled jewish people.

Published: 9th March 2010

Being a minority can be difficult, but imagine if you score a hat-trick when it comes to falling into three outnumbered groups.

The charity 'Jewish, Blind and Disabled' aims to house those who want their independence in a safe and accessible environment in the UK.

Concentrating on setting up camp in 1969 and settling down at Cavendish House in Dulwich, North London in 1971 the foundations were laid for its first three buildings in North West London. Three more schemes followed in South Woodford, Wanstead and Ilford. The latest housing development can be found at Mill Hill East.

Subtle amendments such as having keyholes above door handles opposed to being hidden underneath makes life a little easier for the tenants and a house manager is on call twenty fours hours a day as well as CCTV access to the front doors.

Each building has two bedrooms apartments and a guest suite to welcome visitors.
