Joint Hypermobility - Very useful at Circus auditions, people who have JH have a vast amount of movement in their joint in comparison to others. Especially those confided to a wheelchair! Most folks who have this condition don't need any treatment and more able bodied then a 'normal' person. They can impress others at parties, other actions spring into our dirty minds which they can probably do - but not really fit to print on these pages, lets just class them as 'very lucky when it comes to self satisfaction!'. The problems come when the condition is more severe causing pain and frequent injuries. A more common and easier phrase for Joint- Hypermobility is Double Jointed and it can normally be spotted at an early age. The stuff we have covered so far relates to the tissue in the joints and ligaments being loose, but a rare and more serious condition when the tissue protein is affected. When this happens it can screw up the bones (Osteogenesis imperfecta), heart, eyes and blood vessels ( Marfan Syndrome) and stretchy skin along with easy bruising ( Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome ) none of which pass you through a Cirque Du Soleil audition.
