Glaucoma - This is an eye condition which affects about every 2 people in 100 which are over the age of 40. So if you are middle aged - keep your eye open for it! Blimey, how funny are we? The disease attacks the optic nerve where it leaves the eye. Your eye is shaped the way it is because of pressure, a high eye pressure can also lead to Glaucoma. The condition can be worse depending on how forceful the pressure is and how long it lasts for. There's four different types. Chronic glaucoma is the most common, this is when drainage channels are bunged with fluid over a number of years. Acute glaucoma can spring up all of a sudden when a high amount of fluid leaks to the channels in one go, the reason why this would occur is because a narrow angle shuts stopping the fluid reaching the drainage channels. Secondary glaucoma relates to when a raise in eye pressure is caused by another eye condition. The rarest kind is called developmental glaucoma found in babies which comes from malformation in the eyes. Gunt - What a bully may be called if he or she takes the piss out of somebody with a speech impediment!
