FIND YOUR WAY TO LONDON'S TOP MUSIC CONFERENCE

Easter is over, you've scoffed yourself to obesity and you are as fat as Vanessa Feltz stomach. You need something to take those pounds off. Your options are limited. You could be a girl and go on a stupid diet and starve yourself so you look you have anorexia, spend a wad of cash and join the local gym or make sure you and your fat arse travel to London over the weekend of 29th April - 1st May and dance off the flab at Encompass, one of the finest UK Music conferences. We thought we would wet your appetite and give you a run down on exactly what's on offer during the next Bank Holiday Weekend.

The three day event kicks off at The Old Truman Brewery where the night teams up with totallyradio.com to

start your Bank Holiday with an unforgettable night of music which is going under the title of 'Brighton Independents'. The seaside resort which is in the title may give you hint which DJ is behind the Southern Fried label, which is showcasing new talents on the night itself. Still in the dark? Well lets just say that he has played on Brighton shores before, shagged Zoe Ball and is a Slim Fatboy. Yep, that's right, Norman Cook most recent project will be introducing its latest acts, Cagedbaby, Grandadbob and Touche along with the other shows from Hardkandy, Johnny Reggae, TM Juke, Dirty Diggers, Train and Stromba. All of which are hoping to make an impact on the audience.

After you have finished praying in church Sunday morning (as all good ABLE2UK readers do!) its time to roll a joint, find that stupid multi colored hat your Gran gave you last Christmas and smooze on down to Trojan back at the Old Truman Brewery. The daytime welcomes a reggae themed afternoon with the likes of Trojan Soundsystem, General Slater and Brother Culture and UB40 - Joking! Don't worry Ally Campbell will be nowhere near the venue. (This is probably a bad move as we are actually meeting UB40 next week, so Al, if you are reading this we think you are great and Red Red Wine was a classic tune, mind you - you have played some real crap as well but we'll forgive you for that!) Next on the post- Sunday lunch bill is a hip hop theme featuring Alphletik, who incidentally won last years Diesel U Music Awards. Also on the bill will be The Breakfastaz, The Autoboyz and a band who can actually spell their names, Backdraft. The hosts will be the Ragga Twins.

The venue moves to 93 Feet Street on Sunday evening which is being billed as a 'beats massacre'. Three top UK labels, Supercharged, Fingerlickin' & TCR promise to take holiday ravers into Monday morning by showcasing their fresh talent. The line up include Freestylers, Krafty Kuts and Skool of Thought. The complete list of those spinning the decks are listed below.

It's not all just banging beats and live music over the weekend. The music conference will include a panel discussion on Sunday. Stewart Walker (Tresor/ Persona - Berlin) will be taking part in 'The influence of digitech on music production' at the UMAMi room. This will be followed by a live showcase. The actual UMAMi party takes place in the evening at The Rythm Factory complete with live sets from Mercury Prize Winner, Anokha and Suibom Serum. Recharged from the earlier discussion, Stewart Walker will also be hitting the decks.

So, have we convinced you enough to make your way over to the encompass website and purchase either a day pass for £60 or a 3 day pass for £150 (+VAT)? Your next Bank Holiday utility reads like this if you decide to attend this not to be missed spectacular music weekend..
