ABLE2 @ THE BRITS 2010

Awards, Kasabian and an exclusive after show party!

Published: 22nd February 2010

By now you have read all the various reviews from last weeks Brit Awards, you would have heard about all the performances - which no doubt you watched on television and we are pretty sure that you are up-to-date with the gossip which happened at the various after show parties.

But, you aren't.

We are about to reveal something which music lovers will not believe. Something which happened on the Brit night itself away from every journalist’s beading eye. Before we tell you lets rewind back the clock to just before 8pm on show day and quickly give you a short review on the awards themselves and how our night panned out.

The two hour spectacular kicked off with Lily swimming onto the stage on the back of a fish and the Spice Girls somehow picking up the award for the best Brit Award performance over the past thirty years over Jarvis Cocker invading Jacko's OTT sickening set back in 1996.

JLS gave a surprise performance, in other words, they were bloody good and another Spice Girl appearance, this time with Mel B with a hair style resembling the back of a horse handing the award for Best International Male to Jay Z.

Host Peter Kay, whose microphone suffered technical difficulties disabling the Earls Court crowd hearing his opening few lines, continued his banter between acts and presentations in a fine manner which is more than can be said of Liam Gallagher. The Oasis bad-boy picked the prize for best Album over the past 30 years by thanking "best fans in the fucking world". He also thanked all the members of Oasis all bar one. It was evident that he and his brother still had issues to be resolved. Liam then threw the award out into the crowd and Kay echoed most of the viewers by calling him a 'nobhead'.

The new Oasis, Kasabian gave one of the best performances of the night trailed in blazes of fire and then Best International Female/ Male (Depending on what you believe) Lady Gaga disappointed us with a relevantly unknown song paying tribute to Alexander McQueen.

As collaborations go the prospect of Dizzee Rascal teaming up with Florence seems as dangerous as giving Sam Fox and Mick Fleetwood a couple of microphones to host an award ceremony, fortunately they pulled it off and another collaboration, this time with Jay Z and Alicia Keys didn't fail to impress the crowd. As for Cheryl Cole, who spent the latter years of 2009 slagging off hopefuls for their lack of singing talent on the X factor her dancing wasn't bad, but miming at the Brits? Maybe she had a sore throat from giving Ashley a load of grief the week beforehand!

With Jonathan Ross decked out in a chav rapper outfit and Robbie Williams ending off the evening playing a melody of hits after winning the Outstanding Contribution To Music Award (Shouldn't that had gone to Take That?) the thirtieth Brit Awards was over for another year. Overall the ceremony was pretty bloody good although maybe we could have done with a few more A-list performers and a better list of stars to present the awards themselves, Noddy Holder? Sam Fox? Maybe next year eh?

Right, that's the awards out the way and by now we have made our way to the front of the table area. We can't tell you how, but we managed it, OK?

After the awards an array of after show parties take place around town. Universal and Sony records hold their celebrations in five star hotels. EMI lay on a party for Robbie, the bash is also attended by Kyle and the official Brit Awards party with a crazy golf course and bumper cars is held in Earls Court itself. All of which are gaily advertised within the media circles to gain publicity in the papers the following morning.

We head over to Shepherds Bush Empire and join the VIP's on the first balcony to watch Kasabian play for the War Child charity. However after the concert we find ourselves at the most exclusive and secret after show party of the night and it is here where we spot something pretty incredible.

Home House is a private members bar situated in Portman Square. It's where various celebrities can hang out away from media attention and relax in the knowledge that their faces won't be splattered over the morning papers.

After their a charity concert Kasabian invited their family and friends to a private party at the club. (The same building where Kasabian played a version of Underdog last May.)

ABLE2 gained exclusive access to the party. There wasn't any security at the door apart from the venue's door staff. There weren’t any paparazzi outside, cameras were too busy flashing Jay Z at his own private bash and Lady Gaga attending her record label shindig across town.

Inside guests of Kasabian were ushered into a private room to enjoy free drinks and mingle. Among the celebs were Jamie Redknapp, John Terry and Gavin & Stacey's James Corden.

However, sitting next to each other and having a very long and, from what we could make out having a friendly conversation, we spotted Liam and Noel. Could an Oasis re-union be on the cards? Was all this a publicity scam? Was Liam really annoyed with his brother when he made his speech earlier on this evening? Maybe we will never know the answers to some of these questions but one thing we can be sure of is that the Gallagher’s are back on talking grounds and surely that's a foot in the right direction.
