The Princess of Pop is doing herself no favors at keeping fans and staying on the right side of the paparazzi. She was due to arrive in the UK this week to promote her new single 'Me Against The Music', although she is not happy with the current sound of it. (At least she has taste then!).

Britney Spears was due to appear on Top Of The Pops, Friday Night with Jonathan Ross and a possible appearance on CD:UK among her visit to England. The pompous Madonna wannabe made her requests known to the BBC and the agreement was her to play the 'Pops and then be whisked through to Jonathan Ross' studio for an interview which would take up most of the show. Both television shows are filmed on a Thursday night at adjacent studios in Television Canter.

Producers at Top Of The Pops had to reschedule recording time to coincide with Britneys' schedule, the popular music show had to be recorded mid afternoon. Normally the filming takes place early evening. However, just days before Britney canceled her UK visit, completely screwing up everyone involved on both shows at the Beeb. Top Of The Pops could not change their times, although worse still Ross was stuck without a guest.

ABLE2UK was to report from Jonathan's recording last night and only heard the popstars absence once inside the studio. Ross broke the news to his invited audience moments before airing, although to be honest nobody seemed that bothered.

The canceled visit had a knock-on effect. Ross's new guests were Uma Thurman & Quentin Tarantino who were both in town for the Premiere of Kill Bill, also happening on the same night. The screening was due to start at 8.30pm in Leicester Square, this was delayed because of the interview. The eager fans waiting outside the cinema eventually saw their heroes arrive after 9.30pm and the after-show party at Hakkasan Restaurant didn't start until just before midnight.

This isn't the first time Britney has screwed up. Back in February 2002 she attended her own Premiere for the box office flop, Crossroads. She arrived late, didn't speak to any awaiting fans and brought her own security to the after show party. The question now being asked is, Is Britney a Pre-Madonna or Madonna a Pre-Britney? Why can't all these divas be a bit more down to earth?
