If
Friends Renuited.com can do it then we are blooming sure I can. No,
you fools I don't mean trying to bring old school friends back together
- I mean publish a book loosely based on the ABLE2 website! And I have
already started - well I began five years ago in fact!
Waterloo Station has much history, but none more so than the ABLE2 Book.
On a visit to meet Bono a few days before Christmas 2001 I made a quick
stop off at Paperchase (a stationary outlet) to purchase a notebook
to jot down some questions for the U2 front-man.
Bono was attending a very important lecture about Africa and gave an
in-depth intelligent speak for nearer an hour in front of a small selected
high- brow media representatives. The talk was extremely serious and
Bono's concern for the third world showed through his devoted and passionate
speech.
Looking down at our notebook and rereading my questions I wished to
put to him in our private meeting afterwards it didn't seemed appropriate
to ask things such as What is your favorite TV Show? or What are you
going to buy The Edge for Crimbo?
Quickly scraping my childish questions I reverted to asking Bono just
one. Based on the website my question was to be, If You Were Able2
To Do Anything What Would It Be?
When our meeting took place I explained to the Irish legend that I planned
to ask the very same question to every celebrity I met over the next
few years and ask them to write their answer in the book.
Bono was extremely gripped by this idea and very impressed. If the truth
be told - so was I we I'd had just made the idea up on the spot!
As I had known Bono for 5 years he was aware that through my job at
ABLE2 I would meet many more celebrities and he told me that I wouldn't
have much difficulty filling the book.
He was right - I am already on book three and determined to pursue a
publication deal so you too can read about the marvelous and interesting
journeys I have encountered. To wet your appetites I have published
two of the book variations online explaining how my meetings went with
Tony Blair and Madonna.
