BREATH OF FRESH AIR.

Trident Gum host a free Beyonce concert .

Published: 20th November 2009

Are you one of the people who never enter competitions on the basis that you will never win? If so, you may want to kick yourself in the gonads before you reach the end of this drawn out paragraph because way back in the Spring, when ABLE2 was re-launched we gave you details about a special Beyonce competition. The contest, run in partnership with Trident gum, gave you the chance to attend a very special Beyonce concert being held at The O2. Because of the sheer size of the venue, it holds two thousand people, everyone who entered received a pair tickets. What's the sound we can hear? Is it the sound of you testicles being battered to buggery by your left foot?

The first titanic tune of the evening was Crazy In Love with the vocals drowned in floodgates of cheers when Jay Z made a surprise appearance with his misses on stage. The sea references continue to flow through this review as Beyonce made a quick costume change, one of several, to play Smash Into You with waves crashing into each other on the screen which was positioned at her Stern.

Wearing a long, divine white dress which after a few alterations would suit any Bride to be our favourite Diva played Ave Marina before the divorcing sounds of Broken-Hearted Girl.

Another change, only this time with gender, followed with If I Was A Boy spiced up with a rendition of Alanis Morissette's 'You Oughta Know'.

Two gold ghetto blasters alongside her dancers accompanied Mrs. Corey Carter for the performance of Radio. This was background by film footage of the then young Ms Knowles childhood years. Now hooked up the Jiggaman there's another rapper which is closely linked with Beyonce thanks to a recent episode at an awards ceremony earlier this year...

Kanye West disgraced himself when he stormed the stage at the MTV awards during Taylor Swift's acceptance speech claiming the prize should had gone to Beyonce. Tonight the rapper made his return to the public eye rapping through the appropriate named track, 'Ego'.

Referring back to 'the other rapper' Beyonce dedicated 'Hello' to meeting the man of your dreams for the very first time, before being harnessed above the crowd and somersaulting towards the centre stage. Once safely in the middle of the competition winners the star covered Dawn Penn's 'You Don't Love Me' nested inside her 2006 hit, Irreplaceable. Other tracks played in the round were Baby Boy and Check It Out.

The next segment of the concert brought us back to the Destiny's Child years where Beyonce, back on the main stage, joined her dancers for compilations of the bands greatest hits. (Bootylicious, Bug A Boo and Jumpin' Jumpin'.) After which the DC Survivor left the shadows of her former band mates to carry on with her solo career. A move which has taken her to Hollywood giving her a leading role in Dreamgirls and the opportunity to perform at Barack Obema inauguration, highlights of which were shown of film during her performance of Upgrade U.

Before leaving the crowd, who had forgiven her thirty minute delayed Showtime the moment she appeared on stage nearly two hours ago. Beyonce gave us a self-pleasing renditions of Single Ladies and the angel delights of Halo before asking the fans to light up the O2 arena with their camera phones to pay tribute to Michael Jackson.

Tonight Beyonce gave a prize winning performance and everybody in attendance won an evening which they won't forget in a hurry. Within the hour London's O2 arena was emptied with two thousand pieces of Trident Gum stuck to the empty seats.
