BABY RB LOSES HIS LIFE Disabled toddler passes away Published: 16th November 2009 CMS (Congenital Myasthenic Syndrome) is a rare condition which causes extreme breathing difficulties and the movement of limbs. Two parents who have done extensive research into this life threatening disposition are those of Baby RB. The mother had a bit of common sense when her baby was born. The toddler's future looked bleak and because of the agonising pain seeing her new born fight for life on a daily basis she wanted her child's life support machine to be switched off. Unfortunately the father, who separated from his wife, opposed to this idea and for the past year Baby RB has been suffering every day for a whole year battling for survival. Thanks to the advice of the hospital's legal team, who described Baby RB's life as a 'miserable, sad and pitiful existence' the father finally agreed to end his sons unbearable, painful life and Baby RB was allowed to die on Friday. The mother told a national newspaper over the weekend, "When they took his tube out, I was cuddling him. It was so amazing to see him without it - it's the longest we had seen his face properly. The last thing I said to him was that I loved him and would always be there for him. Anyone who judges me doesn't know how hard it was. We could have withdrawn care at four weeks old but we didn't - we fought for him. I've loved every second, every minute I've had with my son and in my eyes he's still my perfect little boy." For legal reasons the parents can not be named.
